French: Placement in French language courses 101-228 is determined by the UW-Madison French Placement Test, and/or in consultation with the department, and/or in consultation with the SOAR (Student Orientation Advising & Registration) Foreign Language Consultant.

Italian: Students with previous experience in Italian should consult the department or the SOAR (Student Orientation Advising & Registration) Foreign Language Consultant.
