Jules and Jim (Jules et Jim)
France, 1962, 35mm, 104 min., French with subtitles
Directed by François Truffaut
With Jeanne Moreau, Oskar Werner, Henri Serre

The most famous of all love-triangle movies follows the shifting affections of Jules (Oskar Werner), Jim (Henri Serre), and the enigmatic Katherine (Jeanne Moreau) through times of war and peace in early-20th-century France. Though it is a period film, Truffaut’s influential and innovative nouvelle vague storytelling techniques capture the spirit of the 1960s. A recently struck 35mm print will be screened in honor of Jules and Jim’s 50th anniversary.
